Well since cost ISN'T an issue I'm going to go full balls to the wall on a setup for you.. However, you have to realize different setups depend on what you will be using the system for.. If you are knee deep in photoshop work than having multiple graphic cards is probably just a waste of money.. and instead should opt in for a pair of SSD Hard-Drives in RAID-0. However if you are a hardcore gamer, than those pair of graphic cards should come in handy.

My personal favorite setup (no budget mention would be)

    System 1: All-Around Kickass System

Processor: Intel Core i-7 Extreme Edition 980X 3.33 GHz Quad
    Motherboard: ASUS RAmpage III Extreme
Memory: 12GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Dominator DHZ
    Power Supply: 1500W Silverstone
    Hard-Drive 1: 256GB Corsair SSD
    Hard-Drive 2: 256GB Corsair SSD
    Both HD1 and HD2 combine for RAID-0 ( for performance )
    Hard-Drive 3: 2x 2TB Western Digital 64MB Cache (Storage Drives)
Optical Drive: 2x Blu Ray Writer/Reader
Network Card: Killer 2100 (reduces lag)
    Video Card: 2x SLI NVIDIA Geforce GTX 480 ( 1.5GB x2 )

Cooling: Everything watercooled with a dual loop system with internal lighting to match the coolant.

O/S: Windows Ultimate 7 (64 bit edition of course)

All together this system would run you about $8,000 or so retail.

HOWEVER.. If you're like me and need a GREAT system that can play everything on high without spending a chunk of your yearly salary.. consider something like this:

    Intel I-7 980 Extreme Edition
    6GB of DDR3-1333 Memory
Geforce GTX 470 Graphic Card ( 1.26GB memory)
    1x 64 GB SSD (windows / loading)
    1x 1 TB Hard-Drive (Storage)
    Power Supply: 850W

.. something like this should cost around $2,000 ..

    Hope this helped!

I tend to stick with gigabyte or Asus for Intel X58 .. as for the O/S I'd stick with Windows 7 Ultimate X64

What do you mean don't worry about cost?

We were looking at our old newegg receipts; we built a server a few years ago; can't believe what we spent.

I wouldn't waste my time with Intel. AMD has a 6 core processor that should be enough.

Well ya you bought an HP .... You're using a first generation quad processor.. of course they are going to be crappy.. like the Q6600 when it first came out.. Now they have the ( i series ) .. i7 being the best..

I would give Intel another shot..
