First ill say, if you can find a briowning Hi Power, give it a go. I have never met a person that didnt like them and I love mine.

In the winter I carry the glock 22 or the Smith and Wesson M&P9

Summer I carry the browning hi-power or the Smith and Wesson M&P shield in 40 cal both are good pistols

Here is my glock and M&P:

Best thing is to find a range that rents differant side arms. Rent a few and see what you like. You may like a revolver.

XD is one of them you will either love it or hate it. I never cared for them because of the high axis of the barrel.

It is is for legal concealed carry, you will have to find what you can conceal with your frame and how much weight you are comfortable with. Me I like a full size weapon and carry two extra magazines with me. But, I have been carrying since the early 90's and have tried just about every gun and holster out there to find what fit me.

I know this is a few weeks old, but my personal baby is my Beretta PX4 full size 9mm.

My only issue with it is that the trigger is a tad bit too heavy. But it's easily the most comfortable gun I've ever shot.

People like that gun in the concealed carry community.

I just got my stock from McMillan for my Remington 700 XCR Tactical Long Range rifle with 26" bull barrel in 300 win mag. The thing weighs over 15 pounds but even with the stock B&C stock I get 3" groups at 500 yards.
I waited almost a year for the McMillan stock to be made. But it was well worth it. Now to get to the range and get ready for some 1000 yard competitions once I bed it.

The rifle is almost as tall as I am

Mine is Identical to this one:
